Starter and supply batteries are designed for different tasks. To start the engine, the starter batteries must first deliver a high current and then serve as an energy absorber with small partial cycles. Supply or plate batteries, on the other hand, are discharged by smaller currents for longer periods of time and then recharged. In this way, they are subjected to a much greater load. These properties must be taken into account and require special charging technology to prevent damage and ensure a long service life. IUoU battery chargers operate on a unique six-step charge cycle. They guarantee optimal charging conditions for all gel, fleece and wet batteries, as they charge quickly and at the same time very gently.

The required charging voltage, which is required for lithium batteries with BMS (Battery Management System), can be set via DIP switches. This means that lithium batteries are optimally charged with MCA chargers.

6-stage IUoU charging characteristics

Phase I: At the beginning of the charging process, the empty battery is charged with a constant current (100% charging current) until the battery voltage reaches the charging voltage.

Phase Uo: Now begins the 3-stage absorption charging phase (phase Uo), the duration of which depends on the battery. The voltage remains constant (Uo). Battery charge is determined in the first 2 minutes. Then the main charging phase begins, during which the battery is fully charged. When the battery is fully charged or the charging current is less than 6% of the rated charging current for 15 minutes, the Uo phase ends.

Phase U: the charger switches to trickle charge. Conditioning: every 12 days the charger returns to phase 1 to revitalize the battery and avoid sulfation
